Sustainable business models and organisations

Overcoming policy failures in infrastructure Asset Management
Challenge
The Swedish municipalities have, despite policies for sustainability, to a large extent failed to develop strategic approaches and plans for managing their fixed assets, with the result that assets are not adjusted to underlying demographic changes, settlement patterns and technical age of the infrastructure.
Expected results
Enhanced understanding of how to formulate and implement successful asset management policies. The results will also be an input in project 2.3 on how to overcome organisational barriers in infrastructure management. The results will provide knowledge on policy formulation and thus contribute with new perspectives and concrete approaches for managing assets.
